It is noteworthy that since inception in 1993, one of the greatest factors that has influenced the growth and success of BGL is its people as well as the shared culture in the organization.
A fundamental aspect of this culture was shaped in the early days when the closely knit family did away with vertical structures and its associated mind set and inculcated various traditions such as all staff relating on a first name basis.
Over the years, BGL has striven with great success to recruit and retain the best hands in the industry. With a strong emphasis on training and personal development, employees are also adequately compensated well above industry average to ensure optimal motivation. We encourage among our staff a work-life balance as well as continuous personal development. This accounts for why BGL has a very low rate of staff turn over.
Our world class human capital base is complimented by a distinguished Board of Directors.
From the initial 9-man Board membership at inception, a more streamlined seven-man Board of directors, chaired by Dr. Kalu I. Kalu , currently oversees the management of the growing company. Other Board members include Mr. Mohan Lalchandani, Hajia Fatima Isa Wali , Albert E. Okumagba (Managing) , Chibundu Edozie (Executive) and Henry O. Laraiyetan (Executive)
